OKSANA MAS

Ukrainian artist. Humanist. Philosopher. Art theorist. Researcher of architecture and art.

Oksana Mas was born in 1969 in the town of Illichivsk near Odesa, Ukraine. She graduated from the Illichivsk School of Art in 1986, the M.B. Grekhov Odesa State College in 1992, the Faculty of Philosophy at the I.I. Mechnikov Odesa State University in 2003, and the Faculty of Fine and Decorative Arts, Restoration of the National University “Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic” in 2019.

Mas represented Ukraine with the project “Post-vs-Proto-Renaissance” (The Altar of Nations) curated by Achille Bonito Oliva at the 54th Venice Biennale (Italy) which became one of the most attended and widely covered pavilions of the Biennale in 2011. In 2013 she participated the Glasstress exhibition within the parallel program of the 55th Venice Biennale (Italy) with the “Quantum Prayer”project, a unique series of sculptures from car engines covered with Murano glass.

In 2012 Oksana Mas won the Independent Critics Prize at the 65th Locarno International Film Festival (Switzerland).

100+ solo and group shows, including Salvador Dali Museum in Figueres (Spain), MAGA Museum Milan (Italy), Sharjah Art Museum (the United Arab Emirates) and The Wallace Collection (the United Kingdom).

Oksana Mas’s artworks are sold by Sotheby’s Milan (Italy), Christie’s London (the United Kingdom), The Armory Show New York (USA), Art Basel Miami (USA), FIAC Paris

(France), ARCO Madrid (Spain), and Frieze Art Fair in London (the United Kingdom).

The author’s artworks are included into the collections of Deutsche Bank (Frankfurt am Main, Germany), PinchukArtCentre (Kyiv, Ukraine) and more than 2.000 private and public collections in the USA, France, the United Kingdom, Italy, Switzerland, Japan, Ukraine, the United Arab Emirates and Australia.

Today she lives and works in Barcelona, Spain.
